Files tab controls how files are saved and opened
Prompt For Image Span
When an image is imported into the canvas, the default action is the set the origin point at the center of the image.
This option allows you to click on the image where you want the origin to be. The origin of the image can also be set after the image is open by using the Span option under the Image Pull down menu
When Importing Stitch Files
These settings control how the system responds when a stitch file such as a DST or XXX file is opened. For your convenience, these settings are also located in the Open Design form.
Use default palette when etc...
Files such as XXX, REF, ERF and others contain the actual design color data. Files such as DST, CND, EXP and others do not. This option instructs the program to use the default palette as set up in the Embroidery tab when opening designs that do not contain color data
Always Use Default Information
This setting instructs the program to use the default information regardless of whether or not the file being opened has its own color information
Filter Stitches
This option will automatically split designs into editable blocks when opened. Designs are split into blocks of color and further into sub blocks if they contain trim codes or a set multiple number of jump stitches
Convert 3 jumps to Cut
Some formats such as DST do not support trim codes and instead use a series of small jump stitches to trigger the machine to cut the thread, usually 3 Jumps. The input filter will convert jump sequences into actual trim codes based upon this setting.
When importing Vector Files
Import as bitmap
This feature will convert any vector based image into a bitmap when imported. When a vector format is selected for opening, it is assumed by the program that the information in the file is true vector. However, this is not always the case. In some cases, an image can originally be a bitmap and simply saved as a vector format. For instance, scanning a photo into Corel Draw and saving as CDR. In this case, the CDR file contains No vector data and thus, the system will read it as a blank canvas. Checking this option will instruct the system to read the entire design as Bitmap data, thus, allowing it to open.
Optimize curves
This feature will optimize vector images for embroidery. Files of type WMF do not support true curves and instead use many small straight lines. This option will convert these to true curves as well as optimizing in general most vector formats.
When Saving design in native format
Save Guidelines
When saving an ERF file, this option will also save any guidelines that were created with the original file
Save objects of background image
If an image is used to create a design , as in digitizing, this option will save a link to the file so that the image can be recovered if the design is opened again later.
Save background image internally
This option will save the background image internally to the erf file instead of as a link. This is convenient when moving a partially digitized design between computers but will result in large erf files if used extensively.
