Span

Span refers to the origin point on the image. By default, when an image is imported, the origin will be placed at the center of the image. However, you may not always want the origin to be in the center of the image. Suppose you were only creating part of an image for the embroidery. In this case the origin would be in the center (or close to center) of the part you are digitizing, not the entire image.

Image Span is also used extensively when creating a new keyboard font from an image (Pro Elite Level)
