Sequin stitches are used in conjunction with a mechanical sequin setter attachment. Although you can sew this stitch type on a standard embroidery machine, the effect will not look like sequins.
Embroidery Settings For Sequin
Sequin Name:
Choose a sequin stitch from the drop down or click Catalog for a thumbnail view of the different sequin patterns.
Size:
Sequins are produced in various sizes. Set this parameter to match the size of the sequin you will be using..
Distance X:
The Distance between the sequins in the same direction as the stitch angle
Distance Y:
The Distance between the sequins perpendicular to the direction of the stitch angle
Tie Offset:
Allows an incremental movement of the tie stitch (.4 mm max) to prevent stitching the tie through the sequin.
Tie Rotation:
This setting will orientate the sequin stitches to be perpendicular to the stitch angle
Same Direction:
When the sequin pattern is sewn down, each alternating rows of stitching will be inverted to optimize sewing connections. Since sequins are round, this is not generally noticeable. If however you would like for all of the sequin stitching to be orientated the same, checking the Same direction will prevent the inversion of the alternate rows.
Normal Direction:
This setting will orientate the sequin stitches to the rotation that they were originally designed. (right side up) This setting will honor the Tie rotation as long as the rotation angle does not exceed 180 degrees in which case the sequin stitch will flip rather than invert.
Color:
Defines the color of the sequin pattern being displayed on the screen when "Draw Sequins on Design" is checked in the Embroidery Settings>Embroidery Tab
Set Sequin Every..
This setting is not used for Normal Fill, it is only applicable to Sequin with Running Stitch. In Running Stitch Sequins you can have the Sequin set on every X stitch
Sequin On:
Inserts a Sequin On Code at the beginning of the block. This code will signal to the machine to engage the sequin device
Sequin Off:
Inserts a Sequin Off Code at the end of the block. This code will signal to the machine to disengage the sequin device. You MUST disengage the sequin device before continuing with normal embroidery.
Sequin on Edge:
There is no such thing as a 1/2 sequin, This option will place sequins where any part of the sequin pattern is outside on the outline. If un-checked the system will eliminate any sequin pattern that is not completely within the outline.
