The Select Mode is used to define blocks or stitches for editing. With this tool you can quickly an easily select blocks of stitches by direct click with the mouse,  by color,  or by click and drag. Once a block or blocks are selected you can perform any number of operations on the selected area depending on your level of software.

The Mode Tool Bar above displays all of the options for the Select Tool. Click any icon to display its function.

Once a block or blocks are selected it can be manipulated in a number of ways. Blocks of stitches can be moved, rotated, resized, stretched or skewed on the screen with the mouse by simple "click and drag".

Items can also be copied, pasted duplicated and otherwise changed by clicking the Right mouse and selection from the options in the right click menu.

  1. Select the block or blocks  to be manipulated
  2. Once selected, the block will be displayed in a different color with a wire frame outline. This wire frame outline contains controls for manipulating the block. The square blocks around the outside will stretch the block, the points on the corners will resize.
  3. To move a point, click the left mouse key on the point and drag to the new desired location. Release the mouse button to set the point at the new location.
  4. Click and drag anywhere within the area to move the block.
  5. The control in the center switches the frame to the Rotate / Skew mode. Click this control once and the wire frame will switch to display the Rotate and Skew controls

Additional control are available for micro adjustment (nudge) of selected blocks by utilizing the number pad keys. The number pad is located on the right side of your keyboard. On some laptops, the number pad is accessed by pressing a function key. While an item is selected, press the key on the number pad that corresponds to the action you want.
