Note

Changing the Ruler tool's unit of measurement (Inch or mm) here will change the units measurement for the entire program the same as changing the System Parameters Basic tab.

The Rulers toolbar is displayed across the top and down the left side of the workspace. The unit of measurement is controlled by the icon at the intersecting points of these two rulers.

The rulers toolbar is also used to place guide lines on the canvas. Click on either ruler and drag the mouse on to the canvas to place a guideline. (Pro Elite Level Only)

Guidelines

Guidelines are used to help align objects on the screen. The Guidelines are created by clicking on either the vertical or horizontal rulers on the edge of the screen and dragging the line onto the canvas.

To position a guideline, Click the Select Mode and click on any guideline on the canvas, a vertical guideline can be moved left or right, a horizontal guideline can be moved up or down.

When you click on a guideline, 2 control points will appear at opposite ends, click either one of these and rotate the guideline through any angle

Once a guideline is selected, a unique toolbar will be displayed, allowing you complete control over the guideline. The guideline toolbar is explained below.

Exit:   Exits Guideline Edit modes and returns the system to the previous function.

Delete: Removes the selected guideline from the canvas.

P1 Coordinates: This horizontal and vertical coordinates of one of the control points on the guideline. These coordinates are measured from the origin point on the canvas, therefore they can be positive or negative. The image at the right shows the P1 coordinates to be -100, -100 which places P1 at 1 cm to the left of the origin and 1 cm down. P1 can be placed manually by click and drag, or numerically for exact placement.

P2 Coordinates: This horizontal and vertical coordinates of the other control point on the guideline.  It functions in th exact same way as the P1 coordinates with the left box being the horizontal placement and the right being the vertical placement

Angle: The angle is calculated automatically by the placement of the P1 and P2 points. any angle can be input into the angle box for exact adjustment.
