Updates

Periodically we will release service updates similar to other Windows based programs. In order to make this convenient for you, we have added an automatic update feature. The Auto Update feature will check our server for updates depending on the time interval you have set. (an internet connection is required for this function to work)

How often should the program check for updates

Prompt before connecting

If this option is checked you will receive a prompt from the program requesting to connect to the update server. This will allow you to establish an internet connection or reject the request.

Popups

The system will generate pop up windows to help guide you through certain aspects of the program. Once you become comfortable with the program you may find these pop up windows more of a nuisance than a help. This option allows you to turn the pop up help off.

Show Welcome Dialog at startup

This option will turn on or off the Quick Launch menu when the program is started.

Show Balloon Popup messages etc..

With this option checked the system will generate a hint or guidance when you attempt to do something that is not correct. For instance, if you are using a font style like Campus and you type lower case letters in the text box. The system will generate a pop up instructing you that the specific font does not contain these characters.

Monitor Physical Dimensions

The system Zoom properties will display the embroidery design at its actual size on the monitor. In order for this to be as accurate as possible, you should calibrate the settings in this section to your monitor.

Screen Active Area

This is the diagonal measurement of your actual monitor viewing area. This should be in inches and should only be the viewing area, not the plastic outer case.

Aspect Ratio

This setting is related to the shape of your monitor. Most of the older style (TV type) monitors use a 4:3 Aspect ratio, Laptops and the new flat screens are normally 16:10 or 16:11

Version 2 Hardlock deactivation

This process is reserved for upgrade systems only and should be accessed only with a technicians assistance. Contact your distributor for information and assistance on this function.

Batch conversion of REF to ERF

This process will convert entire directories of REF files to the new ERF file format. The new program can open REF files directly, however there will be a small delay while the conversion is taking place. On newer computers this delay is insignificant. If you are using a marginal pc, you may find it faster to convert your old REF files to ERF format in a batch operation. This process can run overnight or any time you are not using your computer for any other operation.
