This option joins 2 or more blocks together to create 1 editable block. If the items are overlapped, the new outlines will merge into one unified outline, if the items are not overlapped, the blocks will be treated as separate branches of the same block. The blocks to be merged must be of the same recipe.

The image at the right illustrates 2 common uses for the Merge function. In the top image a shape is created with 3 separate blocks. When an automatic outline is created on these blocks, the overlapping areas is also outlines resulting in a unfavorable result. By merging these 3 blocks as one, the system will generate an outline around the perimeter and eliminate the overlapped areas.

The second example shows a similar result utilizing a Text block. In this example we merged only the lower case letters thereby obtaining the desired result

  1. Create the Text, build stitches
  2. Select Block Edit mode, click on any letter
  3. Right click and select Split Block Split Text to Characters.
  4. Change to Select Mode
  5. Select the letters you would like to Merge
  6. Right Click and select Merge.

Note

Before Text can be merged, it must first be Split to characters.
