This command controls the Global Connection policy. The Global Connection policy governs how created segments or blocks in a design interact or connect to one another. The function mainly controls whether or not the system will insert a cut thread command and all its associated parameters between the segments. The Global Connection policy can be overridden by the Local Connection policy accessed from the Object list. In operation, the digitizer would set this control to cut at some distance that they feel would govern the majority of their needs and then use the Local Connection Policy to override this setting for the minority of times when they would either want a trim, or eliminate a trim in an area not covered by this policy. A good starting point is to set the system to trim if the stitch length is greater than 40 or 50. This will insert a trim in between any blocks you create whose separation distance is about 1/4 inch.
