Menus - CreateFreeform - Recipes - Stitch Types - Bitmap Step

Bitmap Step can be used to recreate intricate details in an area where a normal pattern step is not quite right. In the Images directory of your program you will find 2 images BSDragon.BMP and BSFlower.BMP. Open one of these images and create a block of stitches on any part of the image. Set stitch type to Bitmap Step and apply. You will notice that the stitch penetration points will be orientated on any black line in the image. Click on the Preview icon above for a sample image.

Embroidery Settings For Step Stitches

Step Length:

The length of the stitches that make up the satin parts of the fill area, this setting is normally high to achieve the best effect.

Random percent:

In large areas where the length of the stitch will be greater than the step length. The system will switch to Step Random. The randomness of this area should be set fairly high to maintain as much a look of satin as possible.

Min length:

This setting sets the minimum allowed stitch length. This is important to prevent the system from trying to place a point on both sides of an outline.

Color:

This setting define the color that the system should "hit" on. Normally this will be set to black as most outlines in a design are black..
